Getting Started with Chat

Real-Time Chat enables you to communicate instantly with your clients and other professionals in your workspace. Chat conversations open in a convenient modal window, allowing you to stay connected without interrupting your workflow.

Where to find Chat?

Chat is prominently located in the main navigation menu and shows if there are unread chat messages in real time:

You can also find a tab entry in the client profile to start or access the current chat with your client:

Starting a Chat Conversation

Starting a Chat conversation is simple: Just click the "Chats" navigation entry, and the Chat modal will open.

  1. The Chat window shows all existing Chats. Simply click on the name of the person you want to continue chatting with.
  2. If you want to create a new conversation, click on "New Chat".
  3. You can select Clients or other Professionals in your workspace to start a new conversation.

Using the Chat Window

The Chat modal is designed to keep you productive:

  • Stay in context: The Chat opens as an overlay, so you can continue working on activities, programs, or client profiles while chatting.
  • Multiple conversations: You can switch between different Chat conversations without closing the modal.
  • Real-time updates: Messages appear instantly as they're sent and received.
  • Close and return: Click the X or outside the modal to close Chat. Your conversation history is always preserved and accessible.

Chat Notifications

You'll receive notifications when new messages arrive:

  • In-app notifications: See a notification badge when you receive new chat messages
  • Email notifications: We are actively working on email notifications if you have unread chat messages in your inbox.

Client View

If you want to try out the Chat functionality and experience it like your Clients would, just select your Demo Client, and you can chat with yourself.
